Here it is, the final version the latest flick!
Phil thought up the idea for a Metal Gear Solid spoof on the crapper. We shot it in 5 hours with very little planning. It was the first effort with the Sony VX1000 and it performed like a trooper. It was also our second movie attempting to use lights, although this time arround it was far from a full kit.
I spent about 12 hours cutting this in Adobe Premiere. I also used Photoshop and Audacity. If I could just find a better fucking compressor we’d be in bidness. Next is to find some editing ‘ware that will run on my iBook so we can cut the next one on the go! Yeah I know, could be using Final Cut Pro. Could be wearing a beret and puffing away on a Gauloise too, if wanted to be a total art fag. Besides, FCP is about as useful as Premiere since neither can cross platforms! So I need something high end and cross platform. It almost has to be Avid, even though I don’t think I’m going to like it. Course I don’t really like Director and it’s pathetic analogy either, but I’m still using that. Got a little project in the works, trying to make a short cartoon in Director. Got the peice of shit to do some ‘lax scrolling and everything. Now if i could just get it to output the avi properly…
Well, we’re planning to practice making short films in hopes of owning at a few 24/48 hour film competitions next spring/summer. Gonna need a lot of help on that front… Writing, storyboarding, foley, soundtrack, actors, the whole 9!
