“Yeah, you remember this laugh when you’re trying to drink piss and my windmill is pumping a bathtub full of water!”
Here’s a great animated clip from a pretty killer artist: James W. Johnson It’s a funny short detailing one redneck’s planning for Peak Oil, and his vision of our future is probably not far off. So hit the gym and get ready!
“So go right ahead and laugh, I don’t really care. Cause while you’re laughing—I’m stockin’ up!”
Our 24 hour practice run for the 48 Hour Film Project is on YouTube.
Sorry it took me so long to get it uploaded. I’ve been having some serious technical difficulties! Windows was all fucked up, I had to do a full reinstall, that took a couple of days to recover from.
And for some reason that I cannot fathom, I’m having serious video issues too. The mov files I’m rendering are about twice as big as normal, with about half the quality. I still managed to get something watchable rendered out.
I decided to create a YouTube account for Demarcation Terminal, so that I could make our videos available in Flash. I’m tired of fucking around with video formats!
I’m experimenting with some different software and techniques for capturing, deinterlacing, and processing the footage from my camera. Hopefully I will be able to get the kinks worked out by next month so that our footage will look decent on the big screen.
Are scary movies just gory splatter films filled with gratuitous sex and violence? Of film’s many genres, only pornography is generally held in lower regard than horror films. Other genres that have their roots in ‘50s B-movies and ‘60s exploitation cinema, such as science fiction and fantasy, enjoy much greater success and esteem. The Wizard of Oz and Flash Gordon bring back fond childhood memories, while Lord of the Rings and Star Wars have found modern mainstream success. Only so-called thrillers like M. Night Shyamalan’s films and the many Japanese remakes of recent years usually have similar financial support from Hollywood.
Even within the genre of horror there is a pecking rank. Elegant and erotic, vampires have the charisma to attract Francis Ford Coppola, Neil Jordan, and other quality directors. Jack Nicholson and Danny DeVito have both been drawn to the primal energy of playing a werewolf. Buried at the bottom of this heap lies the zombie.
Phil thought up the idea for a Metal Gear Solid spoof on the crapper. We shot it in 5 hours with very little planning. It was the first effort with the Sony VX1000 and it performed like a trooper. It was also our second movie attempting to use lights, although this time arround it was far from a full kit.
